BASI® Qualified Instructor
Cassandra Kelly (Cassy) comes to Cairns Pilates Barre initially as a client and then as BASI® Instructor Apprentice and now as a BASI® Qualified Instructor. Cassy, has been practicing Pilates personally for over three years with Cairns Pilates Barre covering Mat Pilates and the various Pilates equipment. With a background in Hospitality, 20+ years behind a reception desk and computer had taken a toll on her posture. The opportunity to become a qualified BASI® Instructor allowed her to not only become fitter, but also “pay it forward” and help others.
Cassy’s Pilates journey started with the intention of having a better quality of fitness, both in body and mind. With failing mobility, fatigue and weight gain Cassy needed to find a low impact fitness regime to reduce and eliminate the pain she was suffering from Bursitis of the hip, Plantar Fasciitis and early onset Scoliosis. With a young family and being in her 40’s she realised that something needed to change. Pilates has not only eliminated her pain issues, but has also resulted in slow, maintained weight loss, better posture and flexibility not seen in Cassy in years.
It is with great enthusiasm Cassy is eager to complete her training and pass on her knowledge to those, like her, needed to find a better alternative.
